Plate width and height
Hold a ruler straight against the plate and measure across its outer edges. If the plate is rounded or has decorative bumps, measure to the outermost points: we need the largest size. Covers are made from 60 to 236 mm.
For the cover to fit exactly we need three measurements of your plate. It takes a minute or two. No need to unscrew the switch or call an electrician: everything slips or sticks on top.
A ruler or calipers
A tape measure works too. Calipers are the easiest way to measure depth.
Something flat
A bank card, a book or a second ruler: you hold it against the highest point of the rocker.
Your phone
Write the numbers down and photograph the plate from the front and the side. If in doubt, send us the photo and we will help.
Everything in millimetres, preferably twice. A cover needs all three measurements, a surround only the width and height.
Hold a ruler straight against the plate and measure across its outer edges. If the plate is rounded or has decorative bumps, measure to the outermost points: we need the largest size. Covers are made from 60 to 236 mm.
Stand the ruler on its end against the wall next to the switch. Hold a card on the highest point of the rocker, parallel to the wall, and read where it crosses the ruler. That is the depth, 3 to 40 mm.
Just the plate itself, without the rocker: from the wall to the face of the plate. A surround sits on the wall around the plate, so the designer only needs its width and height. For a socket or blank under a cover this is the depth, since the plate is the highest point there.
The numbers on the drawings are examples. Enter the measurements of your own plate.
Several places in one plate
A switch and socket under one plate are measured as a whole, edge to edge. In the designer pick the same number of places and their types.
My measurements
Wipe the plate and rocker
With a dry or alcohol wipe so the tape holds.
Stick on the lever
Put a piece of double-sided tape on the lever and press it to the middle of the rocker for 10 seconds.
Slip on the cover
Lower the cover over the plate so the lever goes through the slot. It holds on the plate by itself, no glue needed.
Key cap, if you chose one
Stick it onto the lever the same way, with tape.
Two minutes and done
Tap a step number to see that step on its own.
Wipe the wall
No dust or grease around the plate. On wallpaper, use thin wallpaper-safe tape.
Apply tape
A few strips of double-sided tape on the back of the surround, close to the edges.
Press to the wall
Fit the surround around the existing plate, line it up and press for 30 seconds.
Two minutes and done
Tap a step number to see that step on its own.
Wipe the rocker
With a dry or alcohol wipe.
Stick it on
A piece of double-sided tape on the cap, press to the rocker for 10 seconds. It comes off cleanly: pull the tape sideways.
Two minutes and done
Tap a step number to see that step on its own.
No. The cover slips over the plate, the surround sticks to the wall, and the lever and key cap stick to the rocker. You never touch the wiring.
Yes. We print in PLA, which does not conduct electricity. Nothing is covered inside: the rocker clicks as usual and a plug goes into the socket through the opening.
It fits most square and rectangular plates from 60 to 236 mm. We print to your measurements, so the brand does not matter.
If the size differs from your measurements because of our mistake, we reprint it or refund you under the quality guarantee. If the measurements were off, message us and we will help.
Yes. The cover lifts off the plate by hand, and the tape comes off the rocker and the wall if you pull it sideways along the surface.
Wipe with a damp cloth. No harsh chemicals, and keep it away from heat.
We print in 5 days, then Nova Poshta delivers. From 7 covers and surrounds in one order you get 15% off, from 10 you get 20% off.
